IMPORTANT NEWS for admission to ESF School

Dear All members,

Please note that there will be ABSOLUTELY NO Priority for ESF Kindergarden to admit to any ESF Schools from 2004. I learn this news from Mrs. Jim who is responsible for admission policy of ESF schools.

The admission priority will be

1. sibling
2. English as mother tongue
3. Foreigner with English as second lauguage
4. Students from other international school /
kindergarden
5. Other students

THe ESF kindergarten fall into the category of international kindergarten. However, the priority list for interview in this group will depend on the date and time for the submission of your application form. She explained that all ESF kindergartens are run by ESF Educational Services Ltd. that is a private organisation.

On the other hand, the student of ESF kindergarden may have priority only to Phoenix International School which is run by the same organisation.

Lastly, she emphasised that fluent english is the most important factor for admission in ESF schools. Even the childern are foreigner like Japanese, Korean, they will not take them if their English is not good enough. The reason is these children cannot get use to the ESF's English speaking learning environment. To admit these children to ESF school are no benificial to them , the school and the society.
