Is it easy/difficult to switch to IS after local P5/6

Dear Parents

Sometimes I heard that it is not easy to get a place in IS (say year 7) but sometimes many parents on the board PLAN to switch their child from local primary to IS secondary.

Can someone share your experience? Either sucessful or unsucessful experiences are welcome.
